Terms of Use

Acadexa Educational Platform — the terms governing the relationship between you and the platform.

1Introduction

Welcome to the Acadexa Educational Platform, an electronic educational platform owned and operated by Acadexa for Electronic Education Services, a limited liability company registered in the Arab Republic of Egypt under Egyptian Investment Law No. 72 of 2017.

"User" means any natural or legal person who accesses the platform or uses any of its services, whether a student, a teacher, a parent or a visitor.

By using or registering on the platform, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these Terms and agree to be bound by them and by the accompanying Privacy Policy. This acceptance constitutes a binding contract between you and the platform in accordance with the provisions of the Egyptian Civil Code relating to consent and electronic contracts, and Electronic Signature Law No. 15 of 2004. If you do not agree to any provision of these Terms, please do not use the platform.

2Description of the Service

The platform provides electronic educational services including, but not limited to: educational courses covering complete curricula, training courses, video content, assessments, certificates of completion, discussion forums, and tools for interaction between teachers and students.

The platform reserves the right to add, modify or discontinue any of these services, in whole or in part, at any time, while notifying users of material changes through the registered email address or a notice on the platform.

3Registration and Account Creation

  1. The user must provide correct, accurate and complete information upon registration, and must keep it up to date when it changes.
  2. The user is solely responsible for the confidentiality of their login credentials (username and password) and for all activity carried out through their account.
  3. The platform has the right to refuse any registration request, or to suspend or cancel any account suspected of providing incorrect information or of breaching these Terms.

Minor users (under 18 years of age): account registration and use of the platform must take place with the knowledge or consent of a parent or legal guardian, who bears full legal responsibility for the minor's use of the platform, in line with the provisions of Egyptian Child Law No. 12 of 1996 and its amendments, and the provisions of Personal Data Protection Law No. 151 of 2020 concerning the processing of minors' data.

4Subscriptions, Payments and Refunds

  1. Some content may be offered free of charge and other content for a subscription or purchase fee, which is disclosed explicitly before payment is completed, in accordance with the principle of transparency set out in Consumer Protection Law No. 181 of 2018 and its executive regulations.
  2. Payments are made through secure and licensed electronic payment methods. The platform does not store full payment card details; these are processed by accredited payment service providers.
  3. The platform reserves the right to amend subscription prices in the future, provided that this does not affect active subscriptions already paid for.

Refund policy: the user is entitled to a refund of amounts paid within a maximum of 14 days from the date of payment, unless they have viewed 10% of the content of the course in which they are enrolled.

5Intellectual Property Rights

  1. All content available on the platform (texts, videos, designs, logos, assessments, training materials) is the property of the platform or its licensors, and is protected under Intellectual Property Rights Protection Law No. 82 of 2002.
  2. The user is granted a limited, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to use the content for personal and educational purposes only.
  3. Copying, republishing, distributing, selling or commercially exploiting any part of the content without prior written permission from the platform is prohibited, and exposes the infringing party to legal, civil and criminal liability.
  4. Any content a user publishes on the platform (comments, contributions, answers) remains their property, but they grant the platform a non-exclusive licence to use and display it within the service for the purpose of improving the quality of the service provided.

6Prohibited Uses

The user undertakes not to do any of the following:

  • Violate any applicable Egyptian law, including but not limited to Anti-Cyber and Information Technology Crimes Law No. 175 of 2018.
  • Attempt to hack the platform or its systems, or gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or data.
  • Publish content contrary to public morals or public order, or content inciting hatred, discrimination or violence.
  • Impersonate others or provide falsified information.
  • Use automated programs (bots) to extract platform data without permission.

The platform has the right to suspend or terminate the account of any user who breaches these provisions immediately and without prior notice, and to take the necessary legal action where appropriate.

7Certificates and Course Completion

Certificates issued by the platform, where applicable, are issued solely for the purpose of evidencing completion of a training course. They are not a substitute for academic qualifications or official accreditations issued by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Higher Education or any official accreditation body, unless expressly stated otherwise.

8Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

  1. The platform and its services are provided "as is", without any express or implied warranties as to being entirely free of errors or interruption.
  2. The platform bears no liability for any indirect or incidental damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the service, to the extent permitted by Egyptian law.
  3. The foregoing does not prejudice any mandatory consumer rights established under Consumer Protection Law No. 181 of 2018, which remain valid and applicable.

9Amendment of the Terms

The platform reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. The user's continued use of the platform after the amendments are published is deemed implied acceptance of them. Users will be notified of any material amendments by email or a prominent notice on the platform a reasonable period before they take effect.

10Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt. In the event of any dispute relating to use of the platform, the parties agree to first seek an amicable settlement; failing that, exclusive jurisdiction lies with the competent Egyptian courts, and in particular the Cairo Court of First Instance.
